Vacancy Gillingham School Caretaker

Required from September, teaching assistants to work alongside teachers in the development and implementation of a programme of work and in the provision of a stable, caring and supportive learning environment which enables pupils to achieve their full learning potential and facilitates their personal, social and moral development.

The role will involve building and sustaining positive relationships with our children and young people; supporting students to succeed through targeted interventions to meet their learning needs; supporting students through in class support, and communicating clearly with students, parents and other colleagues.

We are committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and will require the disclosure of any criminal convictions.

Gillingham School will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not be on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.
