A Creative Climate Project

In 2025, the international River of Hope project reached its inspiring finale in Dorset, showcasing over 60 vibrant flags created by young people in response to the climate crisis. This national initiative encouraged students to explore their local rivers and reflect on environmental concerns, transforming their insights into powerful artworks under the guidance of professional artists.

In Dorset, artist Heidi Steller and poet Matt West collaborated with pupils from several schools, including Gillingham School, Queen Elizabeth School (Wimborne), The Burgate School (Fordingbridge), Ringwood School, Twynham School, and The Grange School (Christchurch). Their work was displayed alongside contributions from Tees Valley, Devon, Newham, Norfolk, and Ethiopia, accompanied by a soundtrack from Dorset-based rapper and producer Isaiah Dreads.

This two-year programme (2023–2025) spanned seven UK regions and international locations in France and Ethiopia, offering young people a platform to express their hopes for a sustainable future through art.
