Extracurricular clubs for the creative arts include offerings such as drama, dance, music (choir, band, instruments), photography, film-making, visual arts (painting, drawing, ceramics), creative writing, and digital arts.

These clubs provide opportunities for students to develop skills in communication, teamwork, and self-expression outside the traditional classroom setting. 

Creative Arts Ambassadors

Hobbies and special interests from gardening, chess, religion, coding, and community service.

Our school library host various clubs and interest based groups, often centred on reading and writing, such as Book, Creative Writing, and Homework Clubs. We have a Student Library Committee and welcome Library assistants.

These clubs provide a space for students to connect with peers, develop new skills, and engage with topics they enjoy in a comfortable environment outside of regular class time.

The Music Dept. runs the following extra-curricular clubs: Jazz Band, Concert Band, Junior String Ensemble, Music Tech Club, Music Theory, GCSE & A-Level Support, Percussion Ensemble, Vocal Group and an Orchestra. MAN Choir and various chamber ensembles will run for specific projects at certain times of the year. Come along and join in, we have lots of fun and perform in concerts as well as taking part in lots of trips.

All clubs start at 1.40pm and all abilities are welcome.

Peripatetic Music Tuition

We offer instrumental tuition to support pupils in learning and progressing with a musical instrument. These lessons are a fantastic way for students to develop their musical skills, confidence, and creativity.

Please see the details of our Visiting Instrumental Teachers (VITs), who work privately to provide these lessons. Unless otherwise stated, all lessons are delivered on a one-to-one basis. While the school monitors the quality of provision, each teacher sets their own lesson fees.

Students eligible for free school meals can access funding to support the cost of private lessons.

Science clubs allow students to engage outside of the classroom through activities such as experiments, model-making, competitive events, fostering deeper learning and interest beyond the regular curriculum. Clubs can be general or specialised, offering hands-on experience and collaborative learning opportunities that build knowledge, creativity, and awareness of science’s real-world applications.

Sports clubs offer a range of activities, some seasonal, catering to diverse ages, abilities, and interests.

Students must:

Ask permission to leave period 4 five minutes early so you can get changed.

Students can remain in their CORRECT PE kit period 5.

Meeting/changing:

• MPH changing rooms: rugby, badminton, hockey, basketball, running, yoga
• Gym changing rooms: netball, football, handball, ultimate frisbee, climbing, cricket
• Swimmers: meet beside MPH

Clubs for staff and sixth form include diverse opportunities such as societies, creative arts, and various sporting activities, including mindfulness and yoga. These activities enhance personal development, build skills, and can provide strong enrichment and positive attributes for university applications.
