Gillingham School is seeking a Design technician to start in September 2026. This could be either a full or part-time position.
- Ability to use, maintain, and support workshop equipment, tools, materials, and CAD/CAM technology.
- Ensuring a safe working environment through risk assessments, equipment maintenance, and adherence to workshop safety procedures.
- Preparing materials for lessons, managing stock and equipment, and keeping workshops well-organised and ready for teaching activities.

Required from September, a school technician in the Design department to prepare and maintain classrooms, workshops and materials for use by staff and pupils. Successful candidates would ideally be familiar with a workshop environment, having previous experience with tools and equipment, including circular saws and planer thicknessers. The role would involve ensuring that an orderly, safe and healthy environment is provided for teaching activities. You may also have the opportunity to work with individual students on project work if required.
