Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to Gillingham School in North Dorset, set in the heart of the beautiful Blackmore Vale. Founded by benefactors in 1516, Gillingham School is proud and privileged to offer a quality and enjoyable educational experience that is open to all young people from the town of Gillingham, its surrounding villages and indeed, to young people further afield in Dorset, Wiltshire and Somerset.


Welcome from the Head Boy & Head Girl

Welcome to Gillingham School! We both arrived here as year seven students, nervous at the prospect of starting at such a different school to our primary schools. Oh how the times have changed. As these years have seemingly flown by Gillingham School has helped us develop into the best we can possibly be, not only growing academically, but also helping us prepare for the future wherever that may lead. Over our time here we’ve made new friends, experienced great adventures and been given the opportunity to discover who we want to be.

Next Steps Evening - Thursday 9th November 6pm-8pmNext Steps Evening - Thursday 9th November 6pm-8pm<p>​We are hosting a careers fair for the students and parents of years 11 to 13.</p><p>Forty organisations will be attending ranging from universities, colleges, apprenticeship providers, the forces, the police, the fire service, gap year and volunteering organisations and a wide range of employers.</p><p>The purpose of the evening is to cover all possible opportunities for students at whatever stage they choose to leave school and even when they leave university.</p><p>There will also be presentations throughout the evening in the Multi-Purpose Hall:</p><p><strong>6.10 pm</strong> Information for Parents on Post-16 choices leading to University Non-university Routes to Qualifying - Ansbury Guidance</p><p><strong>6.30 pm</strong> The College Experience at Further and Higher Level - Strode College</p><p><strong>6.50 pm</strong> Student Finance: A Guide for Parents - Student Finance</p><p><strong>7.10 pm</strong> Apprenticeships - J P Morgan</p><p><strong>7.30 pm </strong>Why go to University? - Bournemouth University</p><p>Refreshments will be available for purchase from the Sixth Form Canteen</p>2017-11-03T16:14:44ZNews Post
